For Everly edition by Raine Thomas Literature Fiction eBooks

This book had a light and comedic repartee between Everly and Colt. It's rare for a book to actually have me giggle over just random conversations between the two. This book has some very mild sexual interaction, but if you are looking for "steamy sex," then keep on looking. I actually stayed up till 3AM, because the author kept the reader intrigued to find out the suspenseful conclusion. Well done and I'm looking forward to read the next in this series. This work addresses a lot of physical abuse and other issues against societal norms. Issues that are typically a families "little secret" and shows how hiding these issues can impact so many areas of just surviving. I've lived with the physical abuse, and the author depicts the very real roller coaster ride of emotions of just getting through the day. For Everly edition by Raine Thomas Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews

Raine Thomas has done a truly excellent job with For Everly. It's not a burn with passion read, but a well-written story about baseball dreams and despair, with a beautiful, supportive love story to carry it all. Cole Parker is a pitcher in a bind with a secret injury. His older brother takes charge and finds him, Everly Wallace, a brilliant, young physical therapist to rehab his shoulder. Of course, she also happens to be a gorgeous redhead.

Complications abound, and most are based on real or perceived mental health issues. There's no shame, and Ms. Thomas has provided a nicely crafted vehicle for bringing these kinds of issues forward. It's a bit like Finding you in the Dark, which I loved, with less angst.

Although not a big part of this story, I liked that Cole's brother is in a stable, loving, gay relationship. I hope this doesn't dissuade people from buying this book. I wish more authors would include healthy gay characters.

Great story. Great writing. Thoroughly enjoyed.
Everly is a brilliant Physical Therapy doctoral student with a tragic past. Cole is a star baseball pitcher trying to hide the worsening pain in his shoulder that may derail his career. When Cole's brother Wyatt (a doctor and Everly's mentor) puts these two together, sparks soon fly. The pretend relationship they begin, to hide Everly's physical therapy of Cole, soon becomes real. But someone in their lives wants Everly out of the way--either through deception or murder.
Cue scary, dramatic music. Lol

I liked this book. The characters were great--Everly (despite the strange name) seemed "normal" and down-to-earth. Cole was totally hot, but also a nice guy and honest. They were funny together without being "zany" or over-the-top. They seemed real together. I liked that.

It did annoy me that the author chose to name Cole's sister, "Avery". Obviously, she had a love of this name "Everly" but why, out of all the names in the world, she had to name another character so closely in sound...anyway. It's confusing (and in this case, tongue twisting) to read such similar names over and over. But it's a minor point.

The only major flaw in this book were the villains. The action scenes were fairly well-written, but the plotting of these scenes was pretty predictable, IMO, and the villains were practically cackling with evil laughter, they were so obvious. I knew what was going on from the moment these people were introduced. Although (without giving anything away) there was one drunken character, toward the end, who said something which made me wonder how much that person knew...but it was never mentioned again.

In any case, that didn't keep me from enjoying the hero and heroine together. I was VERY glad toward the end that they didn't fall into any clichéd traps. They were very likable and it was easy to root for their HEA.

NO CLIFF-HANGERS EITHER! THANK YOU!!!

Not sure if I'd read it again but I would recommend it with the above notes.
After the last few disasters I've read, this was a welcome change.
I'd definitely read more by this author.
For Everly was an absolute must read and I enjoyed every minute! For Everly is a romance with a little bit of mystery thrown in that creates the perfect combination to keep you reading. Everly- a physical therapist student has been struggling for years to take care of herself, her family's bills, and her elderly grandfather while putting herself through her doctorate without any complaints. Her mentor's brother, Cole Parker is in desperate need for a physical therapist due to an injury that he's been hiding due to his contract ending at the end of this season. Due to her monetary concerns, Everly decides that she'll take on the task of rehabing Cole and posing as his girlfriend so the press won't find out. Little do they know, their chemistry would spark and it would lead into much more. But, Cole has a crazy ex girlfriend that won't leave him alone and Everly has skeletons in her closet as well. This book is one of the best I've read lately. Everly and Cole's characters are well written and their humerous banter keeps you reading. The banter, the touch of mystery and the sexual tension will definately keep you entertained. I totally recommend reading this book. You will not be dissapointed!
Interesting about child abuse. I thought as the author has worked in that field she could have added a little more emotional feelings when Everly was telling about it. Having never shared this with anyone before, she could never have told him in a restaurant. The author knows that and so do I . It is extremely difficult to do. It made the experience seem cut and dry. Trust me when I say it's not.
The love scenes also seened cut and dry. She didn't need to go into detail but something was missing. Those are the only two things that bothered me. I enjoyed reading the whole book, really. It was fun and easy to read.
